Summer Wine is a six piece band made up of male and female singers, guitar, bass, keyboard/saxophone and drummer All are experienced musicians from a variety of backgrounds and formed in our current line-up in October
2006.
Our line-up is:
Ian - lead singer. Ian’s background is in musicals and shows in his native Bolton but also in Wigan. A lively and, at times, hilarious front man he is lucky to have a I versatile voice which he uses to good effect itt blues/souls numbers like ‘Mustang Sally’, but then changes style completely to sing swing classics such as ‘Straighten Up and Fly Right’. Ian also sings duets with our female vocalist.
Sue, female vocalist sings duets with Ian such as Brian Adams and Mel B’s ‘When You’re Gone’, as well as the power ballad ‘We’ve Got Tonight’ later in the act. Sue is an experienced solo singer who has built an impressive reputation over several years. Sue’s emotional performances of Lilac Wine and First Time Ever I saw Your Face’ keep audiences spellbound which turns to dance and energy with ‘Outta Love’ ‘Jump’.
Mike, ‘Fingers’ Harringron plays bass guitar in the driving rhythm section. His
J amazing fretwork on numbers such as

Carl, on drums is the engine of the band. Carl is originally from Scotland and played in the famous Star Club in Hamburg in the 60’s with the Tuxedos and more recently could be found drumming with the The Copycats and Merseybeat band Ian and the Zodiacs who were invited back to Germany for the Star Clubs 40th Anniversary.
Graeme, the quiet member of the band plays lead guitar. His clear and haunting sound in solos has to be heard.
John, ‘JD’ Hughes, has enjoyed a long and successful musical career since playing with the award-winning ‘Gravy Train’ rock band. His soulful saxophone and exquisite keyboard skills add power and depth to the group.

In some venues we are able to offer a further backing vocalist, Suzanne, who is able to give extra depth to our vocal harmonies.
